Charisma, Leadership and Renown all increase your party size. A 59 man army is extremely small. Charisma is important. Use some of your Charisma to increase Skill Points in "Leadership" . Each point increases party size by 5, increases party morale and lowers party wages.
Possibly a limit existing on children but not clan members. I dont know about anyone else but typically ill get to 30-40 hours into a playthrough and think i should have done x y and z in a certain order and end up restarting. The most simple way would be to export your character, go to \Users\Documents\Mount&Blade Warband\Characters, find your character, increase charisma (1 charisma = +1 party size) to the point you like and import it ingame again. But as Tuidjy said, you will not like the game with so many troops. The game is balanced around less than 200 soldiers About 1300-1400 without mods. Party size can go a lot farther then 200-220 without mods. My max size at the moment is 338 with both the kingdom policies that increase king/clan leader party size running, and i still have another 15 points or so i can gain in steward. I also think it will go up +15 when i hit clan tier 6. Putting stats into charisma and then the leadership skill on your character as well. Around 500, and gradually increases toward end of game if you hoard fiefs, to something around 600. Although it's a huge waste of fiefs to hoard them, since having clans over gives you more soldiers.

To check your party size and potentially find out why your party size did not increase, go from the World map Reports > View party size report. There you get a breakdown about your party size and what makes it grow. Your party size bonus in there should be equal to 1/25th of the renown you have..
